3LatixEngine is a cloud architecture validation engine. It checks your AWS, Azure, and GCP architecture diagrams against official provider rules and Well-Architected best practices, catching anti-patterns, security gaps, and misconfigurations before they reach production.
It runs on Mermaid today — so you can draw diagrams with native cloud icons and validate them in the same place — and the rules engine is expanding to other tools and diagram formats.
Mermaid renders diagrams; it does not understand them. LatixEngine adds a validation layer on top: it reads the architecture you've drawn and evaluates it against each cloud provider's own rules and best practices — flagging issues like a public database, a single-AZ deployment, or an API Gateway wired directly to a relational database.
You still get native AWS, Azure, and GCP icons and plain Mermaid output, but the real product is the rules engine that validates the architecture.
No. LatixEngine runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to install, no CLI, and no build step. Just open the editor and start writing.
§Icons & themes
3LatixEngine ships with 1,698 icons covering AWS, Azure, GCP, generic infrastructure, and common software components. The set is growing with every release.
Not in the current version. Custom icon support (via SVG upload or URL reference) is on the roadmap.
Click the theme toggle button (sun/moon icon) in the top toolbar. LatixEngine supports light and dark themes, and your preference is saved in local storage.
§Pricing
2.Yes. LatexEngine is free. There are no paid tiers, usage limits, or premium features behind a paywall.
We are planning to introduce a paid version down the road. The paid feature will be applied for advanced features to be introduced in the product roadmap
